This is Felix Rush of the Federation Starship... Voyager.
« on: February 11, 2010, 11:12:55 PM »
Hello?  I feel kind of shy.  I don't really know what to say.  I guess I'll try, though.

My name's Felix.  Some people call me 'Weasel.'  I am a stoat and I have a fascination with forum roleplaying, which is why I came here.  I like long tails and I like talking about theoretical physics, like wormholes and time travel.  I come from a place where I used to roleplay, which is called SGC-Clan forums.  This place has since essentially gone defunct, so I hope I can find mature and serious roleplayers here like I once had seen there.

As you can see, I'm also a fan of Star Trek.  I'd love to have someone PM me so we can talk about that... or anything else.  I look forward to getting used to this place so one day I can call it my home?

Oh yes, and an RP related question.  I see that your RP threads are arranged so that all of the peoples' stories take place without a single thread?  On the forum I came from, we had thread for each individual's story, which I would think would be less cluttered, but I wouldn't mind be proved wrong.  Thanks for anyone who can give me information on this.
Grabbin' peelz.

Not really sure what you mean by that. Each RP has its own thread.

Okay, how to explain... There is one central RP idea, okay?  Like a Zombie Roleplay.  That's an idea, and then someone makes a character that's in a desert, and someone makes a character that's in a city.  Where I came from they'd have two different threads(though I understand in a forum of great size that might be an issue), but I see here that everyone would post in the same thread?  It seems like it'd get confusing.  Unless there's a rule that everyone is part of the same story and is fairly close by.

I know there have been a couple of occasions where one RP has split into multiple threads for separate locations, so it's not disallowed or unheard of here. We just prefer RPs to stick to one thread to prevent clutter in the board. So if it's really necessary for the story to split that way, that's acceptable, just try to keep it to a minimum as much as possible. I haven't heard complaints from other people about it, so as far as I know, keeping an RP in a single thread seems to work fine.

As much as i love star trek, one of my housemates watches it ALLL THE TIME.... yeah it gets boring after the fifteenth viewing.
but talking about star trek, I can do just fine :D

anyway, welcome and good day to you my fine and noble stoat...
oh yeah and have you heard of John Stoat? if you haven't, look on furaffinity for Buckhopper. He does podcasts for a fictional furry basketball league, and one of the players is John Stoat... he's amazing.
"Parents always think kids are wasting their youth, and always have done [so] down through the millennia," says Tom Forsyth of RAD Game Tools. "'That Ug, always holding things. His front paws will develop in funny ways. Why can't he walk on all fours like normal proto-hominids?' And so, whatever the kids spend the most time doing, that's always what parents think is a waste of time, and what is corrupting their lives. It doesn't matter what that is. If all they did was homework, parents would be worrying that their kids aren't becoming well-rounded people. And, in fact, parents do this - enrolling math nerds in karate classes and the like. There is no way to win - parental paranoia ensures that kids are always doing the wrong thing."
