^Admittedly, I do the very same thing. If confronted with a particularly vexing or aggravating issue, I work it out by pretending to speak to the person whom initiated the issue about it. It helps me find my strong points and where my argument falters, so that when the possible time comes to discuss it again, I can do so that much better. It's also a way I vent about irritations, on occasion. The same habit helps me learn languages, memorize scripts, and even get out those things better left unsaid without repercussions.
