Now that I'm saying that, I've actually once thought of why small circles are never used as retintles, instead of dots.
Imagine it. If you make a dot too small it becomes hard to notice and it will become harder to acquire, but if you make it too big it will block your target when aiming over longer ranges.
But if you use a small circle as a retintle you can easily notice it and use it for shorter ranges, but if your target is far away you can use the small circle as a diopter. That actually sounds pretty handy!
What, dangerous? Me?
Why? I'm talking about sounding devices, not weapons, ofcourse!
