The story I'm working on is about humans, but I also have furry versions of the protagonists/support in case I want to explore their character in different situations on the site (my 'sona is the version of the main protagonist).
One of the other protagonists I represented as a deer, but I don't think that fits him well. The next two ideas are wolf and fox, and I kinda feel bad for instinctively being against that because they're cliche. :I

I still don't really think that there's anything wrong or cliche with an anthro wolf.

Especially the ones where the artist actually goes into the natural aesthetics and behaviour of wolves, not giving them weird fur colours or anything, but just letting them be how wolves are supposed to look with their natural fur patterns.

I think they could have some great charms to them!

It's just, again, such a shame that they get associated with so many things, even though it's against their very nature... >_>
