for me that is the problem at least in the Pacific Northwest, they getting rid of good traffic lanes and replacing them with bicycle paths. Roads that where already slow, are just getting slower    traffic and vehicles keep doubling

Imagine how much more room there would be on the road if everyone drive a bike, or atleast a motorcycle, eh?

I'm not saying that it would be viable, but just imagine...

But why not motorcycles?

They're compact, like bicycles, they've got the same speed and range as cars, whilst they're (I'm pretty shure) more than twice as fuel efficient, in addition to being cheaper.

I guess the only problem would be cargo/passenger restriction, but hey, it's not like the average person ships 4 kids and 200 pounds of goods every day...

That depends on soo many factors...

The biggest one being: Wether or not you're wearing compliant protective clothing, not just a helmet.

And, after that, how many cars are on the road.

It makes a lot of sense that motorcycles aren't the safest vehicles on the road, given that they share the road with vehicles several times their weight, with decreased visibility.

Imagine how safe motorcycles would be, if cars weren't around!

Well, still... One of the reasons motorcycles are soo dangerous to drive is because they're vurnable to cars...

Soo, if everybody drove a motorcycle, they would be safer. And then it would actually be really viable.
