Imagine Pokémon Mystery Dungeon in multiplayer mode. It does not work. You move one space! The other moves one space! The enemy moves one space! You move one space! The other moves one space! The enemy moves one space! Continue like that until you reach the stairs! Then do it again!
*Note: you need to wait until the other stopped moving before you can move, whilst as is now everyone moves when you do.

How about...
You both move as one and command separate characters?
Let's say all the enemies become twice as powerful, but you also have twice as many Pokemons, half controlled by you and half by your friend?
Or just put in half a second turn end. If you don't move and your partner does, everything else goes normally like you're not there.

You just gotta think a bit and it would work
