"Cookies" may be just a word we gave them... Same as "chair" or " tree" that we didn't give any further thought as well...

Also, in dutch the word for a cookie is a koek(je), wich is just a made up word not derived from anything.

Maybe cookie is derived from dutch?

Yeah, especially since if we don't look at it, it will move really fast, and send us back in time however many years.
