Seeing as they'd most likely just recommend I go see a therapist or something, I doubt a doctor would be able to help much.
Or that I should start taking melatonin before going to bed.
Still appreciating all suggestions tho.
Been living here for almost 5 years now, it's fairly big for being a small apartment, neighbors are ok if a bit noisy during the day (the upstairs ones especially as it often sounds like they're herding elephants around up there or something, and they also have a baby that's prone to long bouts of loud crying/screaming at any time of the day, but that's ok, because that's just what babies do), keeping the place nice and de-cluttered, my bed is purposefully placed so that I can see "everything" from where I sleep as I'm always a teensy bit paranoid when going to sleep due to something that happened when I was a kid.
That said, usually when I'm having these weird episodes and I start to feel like the issues are getting way out of hand, all the problems seem to go away if I for example go stay at my mom's place for a while, and then they stay away when I get back to my own place (until another episode like this decides to strike).
Thing is just that I feel like I'm "too old" to be running back home to mommy every time I think there are monsters under my bed, so if I could find a solution for this that wouldn't require other people, it'd be great >->'
