I also have to travel out of the country in order to get to "my" con, despite there being another one that'd be ~2 hours away from where I live xP
I'd feel so out of place there tho that I don't think I'll ever manage to attend that one >-> Which is such a sad thought.
That said, I do sometimes attend small local meets every once in a while, also thanks to that same friend.
The city he lives in is apparently overrun with furries.
