I also know the answer, and you're not wrong. It is psychological.
Firstly, people focus so much on bad luck that that's what they get. They're so busy with trying to avoiding bad luck that they become obsessed with it, causing them to panic and get 'bad luck'. Of course the blame lies by Friday the 13th...
Secondly, since Friday the 13th is a day to get bad luck on every bad thing that happens on that day is made a bigger deal than on other days. Take tripping over your own feet in private for example. On Friday the 13th it's because it's Friday the 13th, of course you trip over nothing. It's such a bad luck day for you. On Thursday the 19th it's no big deal, it just hurts a little. Sure it's not your luckiest day, but nobody saw it and you're just fine besides that.

I completely agree.
Another thing is that they are looking for bad luck...
So they're going to find it.
The same amount of good and bad things may happen in the day but they choose to focus on the bad.
Of course michen and me are basically saying the sane.
If you believe its going to happen it will happen.
Because you willed it into existence.

That's why I'm unaffected by that day. Because I don't think it's a bad luck day. It's like any other kind of day. It can be a good day or a bad one. Nothing's set in stone when I wake up (if I wake up early or late the bad does have a head start though).
