It's not a weird ratio. The 1:1 ratio is often used for avatars on websites. It makes it unusable as background material for most electronic devices though.

Okay. Also pictures smaller than 1200x675 are not recommended as background my laptop due to quality loss. I've got a fairly big screen resolution (1600x900). I can use any background between an aspect ratio between 3:2 and 2:1, else I'll have to cut off a part to prevent things from stretching too much.

Making backgrounds for my laptop take more effort than just making one simple drawing, and I'm pretty picky about my backgrounds too. I'm not sure if he's willing to take that challenge.

I mean he'll just make a picture that's 1980x1080 and if you like it you'll use it. That's mostly lossless conversion, I got the same res on my laptop too
