I mean... It's how most are. Though Nintendo was first to make a controller. Maybe it was patented and Microsoft couldn't use the same layout
I know Xbox and PS layouts but I don't like analog sticks. My foxy thumbs are bad at handling more than one button each.

Still I know PlayStation the best by far cuz I've spent a couple hundred hours on patapon on psp. You don't do the analog sticks there, only the four buttons. Great game btw.

Left analog and the buttons is easy. Or left and right. But when you have to do both is when things get complicated. And bumpers are kinda uncomfortable too for some reason. It's a great concept. But I can't handle it.
