It comes from the Greek Neo = new and Logos = word.


I'm always saying stuff like that to my cubs.  And apparently my boycub remembers and uses it to work out the meanings of words he doesn't know (according to his teacher).  He'll tell me a word root and I'll ask "is that Greek or Latin?" and he loves to try and work it out.

German looks pointless to me. That's why I didn't pay any attention to it over the past 6 years. I tried at first, but nothing worked. And I was way too lazy to learn something I don't enjoy at home. Still am. XD

If I could learn one language I don't know why I would pick... I'll have to think about it.  A background in Latin is particularly good for the Romantic languages (French, Spanish, Italian) but has pretty limited practical use.


Learning Greek letters is really useful, just because they get so much use in maths, physic and science generally.


Frankly though Hell, your English is so good I think you should be proud of your linguistic achievements already.
