Mine could be 5, though it is an elaborate and highly confusing method:
Take my birthday and make it a number - 21021997
Convert it into base 12 - 7095611
Use 7059611 (as a normal number) and take the prime factors - 13, 43, 73, 173
Add the prime factors - 302
Add the digits - 5
