Whether it is the "same universe" is more complicated than that. Depending on your definition. In a model of multiple universes one factor that makes them not the same is a lack of causative connection. If one can affect our then arguably we are actually in the same universe.
A counter-argument would be that "until" there is a causative link they are actually separate, but when you are dealing with the creation of or destruction of time "until" is a slippery concept.
Cosmologists, theoretical physicists and philosophers of science don't exactly have a consensus and as more data is gathered the models of even a decade previous are overturned.
