My family would give me much more than a few lectures, and begin an FBI-level investigation on how I even came into possession of a collar.

And I've gotten a bit more confident about telling my family I'm a furry, and I'll just wait for them to bring furries up in a dinner conversation or something, and be like 'I'm a furry!" and they'll be like 'whoa what?" unfortunately as far as I can tell they are completely oblivious as to what furries are, so I'm going to assume that they hate them.

I'm sure they'd be surprised to find that -anyone- can just go to a pet store and pick up a collar there, -without any restrictions- whatsoever..
Shocking, I know..


My mom had no idea about furries at all before I told her, but that was probably just good, since I think it's easier to get something to "look good" by getting to start on a "blank paper" rather than having to try and erase some bad first impressions/"lies" (not the right word, but I can't find the one I'd want atm)/whatever someone might have picked up elsewhere.


These days she's all "I do not understand it, but I can live with it"

At first when I heard about furries, I was confused and generally negative in attitude towards them, but after that I began to grow on them and now you can see where I am.

Also you'd be surprised how hard it is to just 'go to a pet store' at my age. Plus I can't spend any money without my parents examining and approving what I buy.

A fox taught me about the fandom and spent about two years trying to convert me. Once he succeeded, he left.


And I didn't exactly mean it like that, it was more referring to the whole investigation-thing..
I think it'd be really funny if someone actually did go all "How in the whole sweet Helsinki did *someone* get a collar?", did a looong complicated investigation-thing and finally found that pretty much anyone can buy them and that the only question asked usually is "Sure it'll fit your dog?", but that's most likely just me xP
