Basically the only difference between Coleo and FDF is that Coleo was not nearly as large and it didn't have multiple dedicated threads. Coleos would put "Coleo" next to their name whereas FDF users put the logo in their signatures. The tactic the Coleos used for adding more members was occupying the Meet and Greet threads, while FDF uses a recruitment thread.


For a long while it was like this: Imagine every poster has the same last name, except maybe one or two people. Now it's just, most users have an FDF logo in their signature :P . Much more subtle with a lot more members.

The purpose was originally to make a group among friends, from what I recall. Mostly showing that they are part of a group, not all of them post in the FDF threads.
