It's that kind of thinking that keep it "unacceptable for your age and gender"


I love fishing.
I love video games.
Both aren't exactly the kind of hobbies you'd associate with a woman, I'd suspect.


I used to do target practice but my grandparents didn't approve of that because it's not appropriate for a lady.
I used to drive a moped with manual transmission when I was younger (and the person who taught me was a female friend who was even younger than me), but my dad still got me one with automatic later on because "girls can't drive the manual ones"
Hell, the orphanage staff even forced me to buy clothes from the women's section of the clothes stores and didn't allow me to buy/use male deodorants or soaps because "that's inappropriate"
Also wasn't allowed/heavily discouraged for trying to take the tractor driver's license, despite both my siblings (worth mentioning is that I have a sister) having it and the fact that there are several tractors in my family.


These days I use whatever soap I feel like, I dress in whatever I want, and if I could, I'd still be out there fishing.
Don't care much for the shooting anymore and if I have to for whatever reason, I know how to drive a tractor.
Sometimes people complain, but because I'm adult, they can't really force me to quit my highly unladylike ways anymore.


Point is, just do whatever you want to do and let the haters hate.
Eventually they'll get bored when they can't seem to get to you.


Besides, contrary to popular belief, hand-knitted socks make for awesome Christmas/Birthday/Whatever gifts.

Well, guess I shouldn't be bothered about liking the more "feminine" soaps and shampoos then. Or liking having long hair. Or a few other apparent gender-"inappropriate" quirks I have. Only one is actually bugging me though.

Also, our grandmother used to give us knitted socks for the winter. Or at least back when winters were actually, like, winters.

I know the basics of knitting, so I could potentially learn how to knit socks for you... But knitting is not one of the gender-"inappropriate" quirks of mine, no matter how much the small story I shared does make it sound like that.

Honestly, I'm kinda impressed that you had to deal with that, and just muddled trough it! The biggest flak I've ever got was when I told my parents I wanted to join the police and they said they didn't want their son to grow up as a slave and tool-of-power to the "evil goverment". Makes me wish I could lend my "I do whatever the [REDACTED] I feel like" skillpoints to you, because you look like you could use them more than me up there!

I have the exact opposite, by the way...

Back in the day, on the nautical school, everybody drove on tuned-up racing mopeds, and I just rolled up on my antique little automat moped, like I owned the place. I didn't give a [REDACTED], I liked the little cupcake! Soo much in-fact, I actually walked 45 minutes to school everyday, because I didn't like the idea of it being parked at the unsupervised parking lot...

In my past I used to watch my little pony up until the current season, i stopped watching it because the current season isnt good, not because i thought i shouldnt watch it, a human/furr/person is allowed to do whatever he wants to do.
