What? You meant how CIWS units work?
Well, basically they use a TWS, soo a scanner, in tandem with a tracking radar. The scanner picks up an aerial target, and gives it's approximate position to the tracking radar, wich then finds and paints the target, and feeds the data into a computer wich calculates the targets speed, altitude, distance, and the loaded projectiles arc and velocity. And then feeds it to the weapon system, in this case, a GAU-8 gattling gun, to take down the target...
And, yeah... sighs... I was hoping I'd do something productive today, too. But then I visited my grandparents for a few hours, and decided to take a little stroll down the streets afterwards, aaaaaand woops! I hiked for over 30 kilometers...
Such a shame...
