I was going to post this on a forum I was on:

I looked a few pages back at the topics and found something entitled "What is a furry?" And then everyone was basically posting definitions. ...But for the most part, those definitions are the gross misinterpretations of the actual term. I know what furries really are. Furries are...


The most misunderstood minority out there. Everyone thinks they are sick minded freaks who wear animal suits or hump animals or want to become an animal or even the grossest most untrue word associated with furries: yiff. None of it is true. For some, maybe even most furries, but not all. The true definition of furry is simply: A person who likes anthropomorphic animals. That's it. THAT'S IT! Nothing more.

:But my main problem is that it's not a furry forum, and there are generally alot of furry haters there. That, and furry haters tend to stick to their guns. This topic would have just been asking for trouble. ...Do you think I should post it on that forum anyways, or is it better safe than sorry?

Its only the internets. Nobody can physically hurt you. They can only post their (Missguided) opinions.

I don't find the thought of these people spreading hate, lies and rumor amongst the "not so open-minded" people of the internet. Sadly, the vision that they perceive from hearing all this rubbish is so horrible. Yet, I still think you could sway the minds of the open-minded with this message, the minds of people you know will actually listen to the truth. All the others, bah, let them be, they're not worth it.

Post the definition. What are they going to do? complain? call you a name? So what? You need to get the word out there. If someone starts to just pull and tear at you, don't get into some rediculous internet fight that people like to watch. Just ignore them and stick to YOUR guns.

Ofcourse it's asking for trouble. It's like a black guy turning up at a KKK rally, but it is the internet, you cant get lynched. say your piece, then leave them hanging. let them do with it what they will.

Wow! So far, so good. The first post (And so far only post) actually sided with furries.

Edit: It's not as bad as I thought it was going to be. ...So far, anyway.
