The rules were adjusted a bit, yes. Though some profanity is still off limits, we allow some of the less offensive words. The rules were changed back in February though, so it's not really a new thing.

Tweak and I are always up for suggestions if the forum members are unhappy about something here. That rule was one of the things that seemed to bother people the most, so it was changed.

You mean like "Yellow Yak", "Gregarious Gnu", etc.?

Some other admin came up with them originally, I'm not entirely sure who it was. But I changed about half of them myself after I'd become an admin because some of the adjectives attached to the names were pretty negative-sounding.
