The night was cold and the air was stiff. Kenneth waited in silence on the park bench, keeping his gaze focused on the clock tower across the street. Any minute now, the signal would come. His body began to tense as the giant clocked ticked, denoting every minute passing, like a conductor building up to a great crescendo.

So close.

John was walking through the park,whe he saw a silouhette sitting on an old bench starng at the clock, he decided to see what someone would be doing here at such a late hour, whe padded calmy until he was in front of the stranger on the bench.

"and who are you?"

he asked, with his signature accent and mischevious expression.

[Vver]

Kenneth only gave a grunt in reply. He wasn't too concerned with tact right now, only with completing his mission. Get in, get the book, get back out. A random civilian's feelings were the least of his worries.

( <xD He's so rude. Completely different from V'ver.)

John sneered at him.

"oh it's gonna be like that is it? i'll have you know i was a boxer, now i couldn't care less who you are, i just wanna know what you're doing in my part of town at this hour, now you gonna tell me, or will i have to beat it out of you?"

he looked down his nose as he awaited an answer.

[Vver]

The man's remark made him smile a bit. Beat it out of me? How funny. He waved a hand in John's face as if to shoo him off. "Go away."
The clock ticked away. Seven minutes to go.

[spitfire]

he grew more angry, as the strange person aggravated him

"look mate, this is you last chance, at leas tell me why you're soooooo interested in that clock, is there a mystical force or something?"


he was getting qute aggravated by now

[Vver]

Kenneth sighed and rubbed his temples. Obviously he was not going to be rid of this man so easily. "I just happen to like clocks. Is that a crime?"

[spitfire]

John couldn't help but smirk a little.

"well don't you take a photo, you could start you rown museum."

he asid sarcastically, he could senese anticipation in the stranger's eyes, he held out his paw.

"London John, petty thief, hard man, and genral niucance, and you are?"

[Vver]

A small laugh. Alright. "Kenneth," he said, returning the man's shake. "Art connoisseur and professional thief." No harm done. It's not as though I'll ever see him again.

Five more minutes.

[spitfire]

john grinned at kennith

"another thief eh? what are you really here for, thieving something?"

John's grin turned into a sneer.

[Vver]

"That's what thieves do," he replied sarcastically, releasing John's paw. He turned his attention back to the clock tower.

[spitfire]

John glanced at the clock for a second.

"so what happens at midnight?"

John asked, sensing Kennith's immediate anticipation for something

[Vver]

"Something big."

He rose from his place on the bench and straightened out his coat. Any minute now. Any minute now, the signal would fire. He went over the plans in his head again and again. Get in, get the book, get out, return to base. He'd have a little over four minutes to rush into the clock tower to retrieve the book once he got in. Four minutes to get the prize and secure a position forever with his boss. No more menial tasks, boring raids, or quick jobs.

"something big huh? maybe i could 'elp ya, seeing as i'm not doing anything else"

John grinned even moreso than he already was, he could sense some oppertunities forming
