That's why I've been trying to add more asian and middle eastern influence into my fantasy world (the one my fursonas live in). As much as I love the European middle ages and fantasy settings inspired by it, it's overdone in fiction.

The problem with medieval stories etc. is that it is overcooked. It's just too far from reality.
I invite you to walk around in European castles and ancient villages, it's far from what storywriters write and that is what buggers me.

Besides all of that I don't mind the medieval era

the universe shoon hails from is sort of medieval but if there was a advanced (not gods advanced) civelasion making touches and advancements and leaking tech in.
