I don't know of any videos, but I know that some people that have made their avatar have done so by using a program called blender.
They just make their stuff there according to the requirements and import their meshes. Frankly, I don't know much about making avatars, I usually have someone help me, or I piece together things from purchased avatars and see if I can get it textured accordingly.

My ingame name is Augustus Feldragonne, and I log in and hang out from time to time, though lately I mostly keep to myself and build creatures out of all the avatars and parts I have or mess around with outfits. I can never work up the confidence to go to clubs and I'm not sure what else there is to even do on there besides looking for more stuff to buy.
