I actually had no idea what their lifespan was when I got them, I just liked them. I did know that they're aggressive fish and the max size is 12" fully grown (though some have managed 15") when I bought them. It's sort of a good thing that one died because I would have eventually needed a MASSIVE tank for two (recommended at least 50 gallons per fish), so at least now the tank won't have to be as big (if he lives that long, which hopefully he will).

Uhh...I have to read all the posts between the last mod post, so yeah, doesn't matter when he does it.
And you'd have to check each mods page because the times are different for each of us and there isn't just one chart for all of us.
