I love "The Raven". It's been my favorite poem since the first time I read it. I don't really know why, there's just something about it.

I agree. It's just... powerful I guess would be a good word. One can feel the emotions of the speaker as he progresses from a cold depression derived from a dark and dreary day that began with mourning a lost love and moves towards... something new.

That's how I interpreted the poem in my last English class a couple semesters ago. I saw it as him going from extremely depressed about the loss of a loved one to falling into madness because of the raven.

Absolutely. That's how most interpret the poem. I haven't read it recently enough to argue with that interpretation. Truth be told, that's probably exactly what Poe is trying to explain...
