You would probably react the same way if you just got abducted by a person you don't know, and then a bunch of other people you don't know show up to 'claim' you, then a dragon comes in out of nowhere with seemingly hostile intentions...

Besides, the whole situation seems like something out of a cartoon, and I'm the constantly harassed main character...
