A computer virus has been reported taking over computers around the world. Don't open up unknown eamil attachment for they may have the virse.

also, if a window pops up saying your computer may be at risk and doesn't list an error message, it is a virus trying to download the rest of itself, it desguises it's self as part of the windows OS and gets in that way.  Panda Internet Security can counteract it, but it still takes 20+ scans to remove

Welcome to five years ago? Surely everyone should know about viruses on the internet by now. The presence of yet another virus is little more cause of concern than it was before.

Just a mass scare tool made up by some antivirus company, to get everyone to buy their software.

Well I think it was made by Microsoft to zap all of the unregistered versions since those wouldn't get the automatic fix for it back in august last year....  That's why i think it was Microsoft that did it.

It was kind of obvious that it was a hoax.

A supergenius with the power to make a virus that would cause digital armageddon is infact a supergenius. This isn't a comic book, this is real life. If someone's got a plan that destructive, you're not going to know about it until your computer is a zombie.
