Art of Sorts!!! ~More Info than needed...

Ok, I'm short on some things, so I'm going to try this, only because I enjoyed it the two times I did it, so here goes;

I've been writing poetry for a good while now and I've been meaning to put out that I can take requests for subject matter. The one condition I have is you give me enough room to work. Here's the form;

Free Verse/Form:

Burnt Sacrifice
Blackened tears of sorrow fall
Mixing with crimson drops
They fade as I hear worse
Crying out, nothing moves.
The sorrow digs, knifing through
Ripping the ribs and ripping lungs
Forcing itself into my heart
Where it rests, eating away.

Acid scorches the skin
Breaking the thin seal
Of trust, failing to see
That this life is wasted.
Worth nothing more
Than dirt, only death awaits
Inside the mind, plans form
Scaring the person, alone.

Easy does it, complex memories
Frightened by anything, everything
And the lights dim on her last breath
Fading as she dies on the cold floor...

Broken Wings
Tattered feathers fall all around in silence
Drops of crimson race down into the ground
Cries of pain and hunger rip through, shredding
What's left of a pale face, destroyed by sorrow.
Bright rivers of burnt crimson fade in the sun
Drying on the frigid concrete below her
Mixing with emerald blades of crisp grass
Crumpled in a silent heap on the floor.

Barren wasteland of fears and doubts
Corrupted, the driven snow will pass
And all these things I recommend
No longer there to believe in.
Recompense the love stolen from one
Only to have it remain unrequited
In the middle of night, silent rape
The mind, the soul, gone within.

Swirls of white flicker in and out
Lost to those of no consequence
Without indemnification,  don't
Have the courage to fight, no more.
No longer able to breath the air
Tightening around the alabaster
Pillar, night falls in swift shades
Killing the last warrant of glee.

Acrostic:

Livid
Strange dreams torture the soul of another
Away, strangled by horrors building up
Many left behind to fall apart, alone
Another falls into desperate love
Never to realize the lies being told
Together they fail to see, what's there
Haunted by things they cannot see
And a love to never be returned...

Soon to be denied of a right, she cries
Under the spell of false hope, lies
Evening descends as she falls silent...

Brought back to reality by a stab of fear
Under a bright, white light of innocence
Ripped away with the feeling of happiness
Rendered weak by another, crying harder now
Everything is dead to her, can't feel a thing
Lest she become what she was once more
Like that fragile little girl she used to be....

A Helpful Friend
Tail swishing in bloody light
Everything falling apart
Zephyrs blasting through
Zeal contained inside, filled
To bursting in his own way
Only if he's there, a friend
Ready to help however he can....

Fixed Form:

A Fight For My Rights
Dying of thirst and longing to drink
These eyes of mine deceiving, on the brink
I fall into the cold water, drowning in tears
And I cannot help but feed my fears.
The days have fallen into night
None can see such a fright.

This banner I wear across my chest
Is forbidden, as you can only guess.
My name is written in blood, friend
And dries with my tears in the end.
The heartfelt sympathies fall short
I cannot bear to hear the report.
Gunshots crack the breaking dawn
And I am but another's strong
A woman who fights for her rights
Finishing what they have begun.

Alright. Did you see the Acrostic for your name?



The differences are that Acrostics are like this:

T
I
M
O
T
H
Y

starting with a word written vertically then spelled out with different sentences/phrases.


 Free form: The birds are full of joy
While I dance with satisfaction
And laugh at the boys I see
Watching me with hooded eyes.

is poetry with no set rhyme scheme, length, or subject matter. Just pick something and go from there.

Fixed form:The girl was full of joy
Upon receiving her new toy.

 has end rhyme, scheme, and looks like a traditional poem.

Blank Verse:     You stars that reign'd at my nativity,
    Whose influence hath allotted death and hell,
    Now draw up Faustus like a foggy mist
    Into the entrails of yon labouring clouds,
    That when they vomit forth into the air,
    My limbs may issue from their smoky mouths,
    So that my soul may but ascend to Heaven.
    (Doctor Faustus)

has no rhyme or sense but does have the same meter as fixed.


That's pretty much it. Other than that, there's no difference. I'll have to do recon on yours and make it better. I'll have it to you by tomorrow.
