Holly shrugs as well, "Well, I'm sold but not so sure about my sister." She said with almost a grimace.

"She'll understand.." Tyler replied, knowing he was just lying to himself. He knew she'd rail against it, but he also knew they all needed the medicine before they came down with fevers.


"If anything, I'll make it up to her when I get back." Tyler continued, feeling the thud of another lie. Survival wasn't guaranteed when even the living wanted you dead, he thought. But again, reward over risk.

Holly looked worried but shook the look from her face and polished off the bottle she had. Minutes later soft footsteps made their way down the stairs. Kai ran a hand through her half dry hair, untangling it the best she could. In relatively clean clothes she looked happy to not be covered in dry blood.

Tyler smiled as she walked in before looking back to the others. "So I guess it's decided then." The dog said as helooked down at the cup of coffee Blaine had slid over to him before taking a long drink.


"You three should be fine while I'm gone." He said, deciding it was best to treat his decision like a bandaid. Better to tear it off quickly than drag the ordeal out.

Kai raised an eyebrow as she took a seat, facing them all. Holly slid her the last of her own bottle, which Kai downed before speaking. "What exactly have we decided?"

Tyler bit his knuckles for a moment, looking at Kai before he continued. "I'm going out for medicine...by myself." He said, internally bracing himself for what would come next.


"He made a good point. Without antibiotics, Holly and I are as good as dead." Blaine said, hoping to make the news go smoother.

Holly also internally braced herself, she was not expecting this to go pretty. Kai, however, only looked up at Tyler and shrugged, "I think you should take our new addition, but I'm alright either way." Holly just looked at Tyler and back at Kai, as if to ask if this was the same fur.

"You sure?" Tyler asked, equally shocked at her cavalier attitude towards the situation. "I guess he can come along. Just don't make me sleep on the couch if he does something stupid." He added, taking another drink from his mug.

Kai laughs, "If you're on the couch then I'm on the floor." She looked down to her bottle and glanced up at Tyler, her eyes calculating and borderline menacing. "Of course, You will be coming back." She said. It wasn't a question. It was a statement.


Holly winced at this one. "If you die out there, this insane chick will go and drag your body back. And then burn it probably. Maybe with salt."


Kai laughed. "That would be unnecessary."


Holly looked to Tyler, "So, you got your excursion. Go get the new guy, show him the ropes of being a slave."


Kai shot Holly a look. To which Holly responded with an uncomfortable smile.

"Promise." Tyler replied, setting the empty mug down on the table before leaning down to kiss Kai on the cheek. "I'll be back to see you before we go." He said before disappearing upstairs.


Tyler finished dressing, now looking like one of Farrow's survivalists. He had his plate carrier on over a black thermal, with olive drab cargos and hiking boots. Grabbing one of the ARs' they retrieved from town, the dog made his way downstairs and to the garage.


Tyler shut the door behind himself as he pulled his beanie on. Stopping in front of the fox, he crossed his arms and finally spoke. "You want to get some extended time with fresh air?" He asked in a calm and respectful tone which he hadn't ever used with the prisoner.

The arctic fox rose an eyebrow but stood, "Where to?" He asked, probably wondering if he was being brought to his execution. Patting in his jacket he retrieved the same knife he had before, testing out if he could hold it properly with his index finger missing. He fared well, just had to adjust his fingers.

[Blaiiine]

"You're going to help me get medicine for my family." Tyler replied, "This is how you live with it." The dog tossed the fox some clean clothes, or cleaner than he had. "Get dressed. And I'd recommend keeping that knife in the open where I can see it. Come out when you're done." He ordered, shutting the door behind himself. 


Stepping back into the kitchen, Tyler waved at his brother and Holly. "He's coming with." He said, looking down at Kai before slightly holding out his arms. "Can I get a hug for the road?" Tyler asked with the standard goofy smirk he had forever.

The stranger nodded, putting his knife down on a cluttered table and changing once Tyler had left.


Kai laughed and hugged him tight, her head barely reaching his chin.


The stranger picked his knife back up and stepped out of the room, looking at them all.

Tyler turned to see the fox, not loosening his embrace with Kai. "One second." He said, before turning back to the fennec still occupying his arms.


"Gonna miss you, little fox." Tyler said, giving her one last hug and kiss before grabbing his backpack and rifle. "Take care of them, okay?" He asked her, gesturing to Holly and Blaine.


"I resent that statement." Blaine said, taking another drink from his mug of coffee.

Holly nodded, "I also resent that statement." Kai just tilted her head slightly. "Come back in one piece, and not in a body bag."


The stranger laughed, "That's what my girl said before I went off to the military."


Kai turned to look at the stranger with a dark look, "You better make sure he comes back. If you do. And he doesn't..." Her eye twitched slightly. "I'll bury you, right there." She said, pointing out a window at a section of dirt. "And I'll make sure you're breathing when I do."


Holly looked over at Kai with a raised eyebrow, Kai just wiped the look from her face and looked over to Tyler with a smile, "Come back safe."
