Simple Recipes

Posting another topic because I'm really wanting to get this thread up and running.

(This topic is all about simple, easy to make recipes that don't take much time to make!)

The recipe I'm going be sharing to start out with is a simple KEY LIME PIE
This recipe is one of the easiest things I've ever made. All you need is:

1.)5 egg yolks; beaten
2.)1/2 cup of key lime juice
3.)1 (14 oz.) can of sweetened condensed milk
4.)1 pre-made pie crust (9")

1. Preheat oven to 325
°F (165°C)
2. Combine lime juice, egg yolks, and condensed milk in bowl; make sure it's mixed to a very light color!
3. Pour your mixture into the pie crust
4. Bake for about 10-20 minutes (I recommend 15 minutes!)
5. Take the pie out and put in the fridge for cooling; key lime's best when it's cold.
6. For me, this is a very important rule! Garnish your pie to your heart's desire. (I put a dollop of whipped creme in the middle and shredded some lime rind over the face of the pie.)

(Sidenote: I recommend shredding a little bit of lime rind over your whipped creme when adding more. It gives it a nice, subtle lime taste.)

Heres an easy one and its versatile, its called white sauce and once you have the base you can add several different things to give it other uses

The base for 1 sauce:
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp butter
1 cup milk
Salt and pepper to taste

Melt the butter in a pan and add the flour, cook it for around 2 minutes stirring constantly to cook out the flour taste. Add the milk in thirds stirring constantly until thickened and add the next third of milk until all milk is added. Cook to desired thickess add salt ad pepper to taste

This can be used on potatoes or on noodles add cheese to make a taco sauce or thicken to make a gravy

That key lime pie sounds easy and delicious.  Next time I'm at the store I will have to pick those ingredients up.
