more then one fursona?

My best friend has two. She says one is to represent the person she wants to be, and the other is 'who she is now'. I'll let her explain in detail though if she sees this thread. :O


For me, my "main" one (the one I refer to as my fursona), Calun the Spectacled Flying Fox, represents me as a whole. Good, bad. He's me!


I have a couple others that aren't finished, but I also am not sure I'd called them fursonas. Fursonas means a lot of different things to different people, buuuuuuut, I guess I'd consider them like... shadow-fursonas? I don't know a good word for what I'm thinking of them as.


But I have an aquatic fursona in the works, because I have an undying and extreme love of the ocean, and to represent the free side of me. As well as a (one of two) herd animals sonas. That one isn't fully refined yet, but either bison or stag. That fella would kind of be the traditional and earthy aspects of my personality that love everything secure and safe, but also stubborn and emotional, since I'm a bit of a stereotypical Taurus to the letter. lol

BTW, when I write stories, there's usually a character somewhere in there based on me, or an avatar of me in some way. I don't consider those fursonas though, even when they're anthro animals like the one on the left here, because I don't represent myself as them outside of their respective stories.

[Nori]

I saw this, Calun

I have two, Nori Årud, a species I made, who is full of positivity and brings joy and peace, who and what I aspire to be, spreading warmth and happiness. Her name also holds meaning to me, when I got terribly sick, the nutrients in seaweed were the key medicine that kept me alive, the nutrients and vitamins in it. Nori means Seaweed in Japanese, I thought it was fitting

My other, Sequana Lín, is an Eastern Dragon. She is who I am, all my faults as well as my strengths.

I have more art and preform in Nori's fursuit more (Sequana is in the works for a partial fursuit) both because Nori is a physical representation of what my goal is in life, as well as being goofy and trying to make a childs' day brighter, or a parent, or just people walking along the road.
It's challenging putting it into words, but that sums up my reasoning for having two. The one who I try to portray in everyday life, outside of the fandom as well as within (Nori) and who I am as a whole, every bit of me (Sequana).
