I'm just curious why you want to. Is it like a George Mallory "because it was there" sort of thing?
I have a problem staying awake for normal periods of time due to a medical issue. I have pills that are normally prescribed to narcoleptics, but some college students would use them to cram for tests. I don't take them (it's not harmful to not take them), didn't like the side-effecs, and I wouldn't suggest them for you. Drugs are bad mmmkay?
I did have a bad experience staying up. I was afraid I would miss a flight that was leaving really early in the morning. So instead of going to bed, I stayed up all night. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Wasn't that difficult I was a night owl* and had insomnia at the time (quite the opposite of how I am now). So I was awake for the plane and we had a layover. Unfortunately this was during the winter and flights can be delayed due to weather. An 8 hour delay. And those airport seats, there is no way to fall asleep in those (for good reason). So this screwed up my sleeping rhythm something fierce. Add jet lag to that and I found myself sleeping in fights all throughout the trip.
*Owls are nocturnal... why do we call them "night owls"?
