For fantasy it's a lot of fun, because you can use pretty much anything and combine them. Take a tree on fire. Treflay, for tree flame. I don't know what specifics you're going with, but it's a thought. More often than not, as you write the name just suddenly pops out, at least to me. I've used a place holder before - Aria was originally named Kitsune until the name Aria just popped into my head. Same with Ta'Ool and Bri'Tani. Ta'Ool because Jo uses him like a tool, and Bri is an alteration of Brittany. There's another route to go; common names morphed into something new entirely.

Music is a huge help to it. That was another game I was going to post if people like the three things game. Music can bring out many inspirations. Ayumi Hamasaki's Teddy Bear helped create all of Hearts of the Elements. And I have multiple songs that helped create Ada, Jade, Aria, Ames - all of them. It helped really give them individual and vastly different personalities that work well together in any situation.

I admit that the AI for Sapphire was based on GlaDOS from Portal. Her serial number is G14-D05, or GlaDOS in leet speak. The other AIs followed suit. H4L9K - Hal 9000. 7R0N3D - Tron 3D. 83N-D3R - Bender. And they all act like their serial number namesakes. Hal is malfunctioning, Tron likes to play games, Bender is an ass.

I'm extremely excited to be included in the creative process with you, Peg. ^.^ And I would -love- to see what everyone else comes up with. I think it's so much fun it should be illegal to create worlds, characters, and their stories.
