Furry Skaters?
« on: May 31, 2016, 10:40:20 PM »
Welp I ride a longboard, I suck at doing tricks on a regular skateboard XD
I currently own a cheap longboard I bought off Amazon (It's pretty good though, forgot what it was called.)
A Globe longboard, (Orange and black, I think the shortest one of the Globe boards.)
And finally I'm going to have a Globe Bantam which I found for like 40 dollars online... It was a steal at 50% off, I couldn't say no XD
Edit: It sounds like I stole a skateboard, rephrased the last line.

Sad to see there aren't more replies to this post! I use a regular beat up board I got from my uncle. I haven't learned many tricks yet cuz I'd like to learn stuff at a skate park but none of my friends are huge into skateboarding. I've wanted to try to long boarding. Would you say it's easier or harder?

For cruising and skating around town, it's a lot easier. Since it's big, and tends to have a softer board and a softer set of wheels it absorbs some of the impact from the bumps or rocky streets and stuff. And due to its size, it tends to be easier to ride. However the bad part is that the tricks are a lot harder to do on them. A new problem becomes prevalent called speed wobbles, meaning if you have a bad board and you're going at a high speed (Like down a hill.) Your board wobbles, fast. And finally you can't make quick turns.

Okay. I figured it would be hard to make quick turns with it but I didn't think the wobbling would be that bad. I live in a really hilly area so I am plenty familiar with speed wobbling  X3

It's been a while but I still have my 2 long boards (Sector 9 and Santa Cruz) and a couple decks (Baker and DGK) from when I was an edgy teenager.

I put a lot of ground under those boards because I didn't like riding bikes and I didn't drive yet. The best I could do was kickflip, ollie, and hippy jump.
