Magic: The Gathering thread

Hello Furries!

I'm a HUGE magic the Gathering fan, but I don't see any posts or threads about it on here. So I wanted to kick things off with a new thread.

I mostly play EDH/Commander, since it's fairly casual but also political, and I play a Teysa, Orzhov Scion deck that is smexy.

I also love drafting, and if I have the money, standard.

What formats, colors, playstyles do you all play?

I pretty much no longer play but I was a huge fan of black/green. Spiritmonger was always a favorite of mine, and the way Rancor on Vampire Nighthawk elicits groans is always a wonderful thing. I include black in pretty much every deck of mine. Playing without Dark Ritual just isn't the same.

I am a major fan of control as well.

I don't play as much as I used to, but right now I mainly play EDH with a mono black deck. I tend to like control decks most which is why I'm planning to add blue (and maybe turn it into a mill deck, not sure yet).

Blue Black mill is a glorious creature, but you have to go all out on it. I prefer Lasav, Dimir Mastermind, but I hear that there are other great ones for it.

I also reccomend Phenax and Oona. Oona is scaaaaaaaaaaaaaary

Golgari colors are my second favorite ^^ If you ever feel like getting into commander, Halei-Helai, the "Plunder the Graves" deck is super awesome. The commander in it is fabulous too.

I'm really excited, I just went to my local card store and got some awesome additions to my Teysa, Ozhov Scion deck.

I love MTG. I've been playing for about four years and have somehow ended up with 12 decks, even though I use about 3.


I have an old red/green allies deck which I love.

Seva, have you seen some of the new allies they came out with? Not as good as some of the old ones but they pack a punch!

I've seen a few but nothing that works with my deck. I recently bought two more decks (can't remember the names for the life of me) but one focuses on colourless creatures, while the other is a life gain deck with a possibility to win the game with 40+ life. They're real fun against each other.

Felidar Sovereign is an incredibly fun card When you play commander, especially so since you start at 40 life.


Colorless creatures in the new set are epic. What are your favorites?
