I wish I had a means of uploading my drawings to the computer. The portable scanner I have isn't very good for that and I'd really love some advice from some of the artists here :)
I used to have a bit of a crappy scanner myself. Basically, I'd recommend touching up the art a bit in programs if you really have nothing else. Programs such as GIMP and Paint.net are free. I can't really tell you how to use them as I use Photoshop, but basically, a good way to start is by finding whatever option controls Brightness and Contrast, and making it higher. How much higher depends on how good the picture look. But this typically is a very easy way to make a picture look a bit higher quality.

If not that, you could use a camera. A high quality enough camera can surpass a crappy scanner. 6 megapixels and bellow, I really don't advise though. Most phone cameras as well aren't high enough quality. Maybe a smart phone's one though.

Those are really the only options I can think of. I can't think of any other way to get a physical image onto a computer. Still, good luck!

Thank you for the advice! :)

The problem with my scanner is that everything comes out kind of shaky since you have to "manually" scan it. When I had my drawn avatar, I used the brightness/contrast but I still lost most of the detail.

I really should invest in a decent camera, though. Problem is I know exactly nothing about them so I wouldn't even know where to start XP

My scanner puts my color pencil drawings into the computer as big black pixels, even though it'll scan full-color photographs no problem. The memory of the scanner doing that kills all my artistic motivation every time I get a damn shred of it. After all, what's the point in drawing something like a role-play character if I can't scan it? I sure-as-Hell can't use a mouse to draw in Paint.NET and can't afford a decent tablet. My camera also stinks at taking pictures of drawings no matter the light level in the room, despite the high-quality photographs it takes.

Not usually. But what DOES creep me out are those photo-manipulated transformations. Man, if I don't wanna sleep at night, I'll listen to the UVB-76 sounds on repeat or something. DX

I remember you had an avatar of your fursona wearing a black suit or something, but I think he was Canine back then.

I was last here in October of 2012, after I had gotten approval to come back after a lengthy ban I got in June or July of 2010, I think. I don't really feel like talking about it, but let's just say I was being a stubborn ass to some other users and the admins...

I didn't do much around October 2012 before I went inactive for a while, because a lot of my friends seemed to have left for unknown reasons. I actually came back just a few days ago for advice on revealing my furry status or whatever, but I felt my case was possibly a little too innapropriate for the forums, or just really awkward to explain, even for furry standards.

Lots of old posters are coming back :3

I totally helped this trend happen because of my awesomeness :P I'm serious! I'm probably one of the biggest names to return in a good while, now if I can get iKerochu back then the 2009 set would fall back into place!
With 955 characters for a signature, I can try make something funny or interesting but no, I'm just gonna sit here and type instead of going to work because breaking the fourth wall is more humour than trying to figure out how I'll get access to my other laptop; picking up my charger that I left at a friends house, around 40 miles away...

Good going Sparky, you did well. On the plus side, it's given you a chance to accidentally revisit some old stomping grounds and see what madness you can create during this seemingly temporarily return.
