I would count falling as gliding.  The physics of flying are different

Then u think gliding isn`t flying? (you`re talking to a glider pilot btw)

Its a form of flying, yes, but its not all out flying.

The taking off part is different.  Unlike a plane, bird, or something of that sort, Gliders usually cant simply take off.  there must be some form of elevation for the air to catch you.  There's more science stuff behind it.  But over all, there is flexibility and stuff between the two.  they can both be flying, sure.

Think about it this way, the glider slowly goes further down towards the ground, inevitably they will stop eventually, a plane which flies can however keep going up and down with the power of WINGS and a propeller hat o.o
