Lied to
« on: September 30, 2015, 03:36:57 AM »
Well, I haven't been around here in a very long time.

So today I found out that a good (read verrrry good) friend has been lying to me for along time.
Now, it's not like it was/is a serious topic but I'm not sure what to do.
I have made it clear to every one I spend a lot of time with that if they [somthing] come face me. I am a reasonable person.
I'm not mad or hurt but sad that they deceided to lie for so long. I thought that we were better than that.

I'm just no sure what to do.

People lie, I'm sure you've lied to close friends before, or at least not told the whole truth.

If it wasn't a serious topic than your frustrated by the fact that he lied to you and not the lie itself, in which case just remember everyone lies sometimes and they usually have some reasons to do it. Unveiling all truthful information constantly can sometimes be dangerous, just tell him you didn't appreciate him lying and be done with it. There has to be a level of trust not only for him with you but you with him, that if it's an important topic he wouldn't lie to you.

It would probably matter whether or not the lie was a white lie or a humongous lie. Your friend lying by saying they liked your shirt is a lot less of a lie than your friend lying by saying they didn't bang your significant other. It is all about degrees. Everybody lies to everybody else at least occasionally. Usually when it comes to the small stuff honesty isn't always the best policy. Not that people should make a habit of lying constantly, or even frequently.

I am guessing through that since the lie has gone on for a long time that perhaps it was a larger lie though...
