Confused on who to choose

I'm in a open mateship, my mate encourages me to find someone closer. When that happened my friend of 1 year 7month openly admitted he's loved me for a long time, is willing to move to be with me. My mate has no driver's license so he can't move to be with me plus he's going back to college soon. So my heart is stuck on who to go with. If you're in an open mateship though does that mean "both" is on the table?

Either way, seems long distance mate wants you to find someone closer, so unless you love long distance mate much more than short distance mate, I'd go with short distance mate. But I can't choose for you, this is my opinion.

Not sure if this is relevant, but if you pursue this with your friend it might not be a good idea to have this person move in immediately. It would be better to see if you are indeed compatible romantically first before living together. If it doesn't work out and they already live in your place then things will get that much more awkward.
