Yeah, it sucked, but at least I taught me about what I -don't- want to do, so that's always a plus.
As for being an emergency call operator, I've had that suggested to me.
If it wasn't for my language issues, I think I'd at least be willing to give it a try, seeing as there's a huge lack of Swedish-speaking/understanding people within that field here (to the point where they're currently having something akin to a crisis). It would be extremely important. My grasp of the majority language in this country is what's hindering me tho, so I'd be just as bad as the Finnish-speaking-with-no-knowledge-of-Swedish operators, if not worse because of how most calls are likely to be in Finnish.
EDIT: That said, when my brother had to call an ambulance for me once, he was able to get someone who could speak Swedish with him, but another time when he needed to get the police, they ended up being forced to meet in the middle by communicating in English. It's an issue that's rampant in almost all areas.
