I read your journal thing. I think your job is amazing and very important. I couldn't do it though...

I say you just do whatever will benefit you the most, HellEye.


I stepped out of my comfort zone and took a less-conventional job because I'm still in school and I have some allowance saved up. In a couple years, I'll have a degree to fall back on if I tire of my current situation or my job can't support me financially anymore.


If you can't take that risk, you're better off staying within the limits of what you're preparing yourself to do with your education.

Yeah, it sucked, but at least I taught me about what I -don't- want to do, so that's always a plus.


As for being an emergency call operator, I've had that suggested to me.
If it wasn't for my language issues, I think I'd at least be willing to give it a try, seeing as there's a huge lack of Swedish-speaking/understanding people within that field here (to the point where they're currently having something akin to a crisis). It would be extremely important. My grasp of the majority language in this country is what's hindering me tho, so I'd be just as bad as the Finnish-speaking-with-no-knowledge-of-Swedish operators, if not worse because of how most calls are likely to be in Finnish.


EDIT: That said, when my brother had to call an ambulance for me once, he was able to get someone who could speak Swedish with him, but another time when he needed to get the police, they ended up being forced to meet in the middle by communicating in English. It's an issue that's rampant in almost all areas.

 That's what I'm aiming for. Just go through the uni and look for a job after that's done. I might be disappointed but I have high hopes for it. For now I'm fortunate enough to have parents pay for basically everything... Sometimes I wish it wasn't that easy. Same with education. It was very hard for me at the beginning here because I never had to study before and I put roughly half of my time at home to school. And if I was studying before it wouldn't be that hard. Now I don't have to work and it might be hard to start working later.

Always good to find the positives though. I can focus on school and stuff like that instead. And still have time to be lazy and chat with you.
