You need milk, heavy cream (the kind you'd use for whipped cream, 30% fat or more), sugar, gelatin and vanilla.
Put a teaspoon of gelatin per 150 mililiters into a glass, add about 3-4 big spoons of water, mix it and leave for 5 minutes. Get the same amount of cream and milk, pour it into a pan, then add about 16g of sugar per 100 mililitets of the mix, pour it on a stove and turn on low heat, mix till sugar is gone. Keep warming it up and as soon as it bubbles take turn the heat off, add any vanilla you have and the gelatin, mix it for a minute and pour into glasses. Wait till it's cool, cover it up, stick it in the fridge for a couple of hours (or the entire night) and you're done

Compared to baking a cake this is very simple. And only needs a couple of things.
