Law of the jungle
« on: May 17, 2015, 07:07:19 PM »

The law of the jungle
every man for himself
survival of the strongest
kill or be killed
eat or be eaten
This will be my first RP I hope it will be good.
But first I need to prepare the map faction leaders etc.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lets explain the main story.

After a break down of socienty there are three main Multipile factions.

They all are in ‘’big’’city. And they will all do what they need to do to survive.

Everyone understands? It is a pretty open RP?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What in my opinion are two big game changers are;

1.       I will going to make our own map. You guys tell me what the city needs. What the city will look like. Are there many hospitals or doctors post? Or are medical supplies very hard to find.

3.       I will keep track of the inventory of the 2 playable factions. And that means the most important stuff or rare stuff that is going to be almost nowhere in the city. (Which means if you want a bandage, and you dont have one. Use something else like a piece of cloth!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please tell me what you think and if I should open this RP also try to think up some buildings that you want to see back in the city or maybe a region like a small desert, or anything really.

Also if anyone has suggestions I am gladd to hear them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please note, You can submit your own faction for now.
Just fill in the faction sheet. If too many factions will be submitted then the most popular ones will continue (probally)

Factions sheet;
Faction name:
Faction colour:
Main faction skill:
Faction symbol: (not needed)
And a little back story:

((I'm assuming the big faction will be an admin authority of sorts, and though I do see the merit of this, it is also easily abused. How about you just be a DM of sorts, and if someone needs something, you tip them off to where it might be? or you could outright control what they find, though that would be difficult.

((As you said the big faction is some kind of admin. I don't want to be a DM though.
I feel like people wouldn't be able to continue the RP at some stages when I'm not online, if I make a map they can find their own way trough the city.
While DM are mostly needed to be online and have to post to keep it moving. A map and some fair roleplayers can do that aswell.))

((btw, you should put this in either serious or fun RP (I prefer serious, when I do RP, tbh. less people posting over you) Anyways, you got a basic idea of a map?

((awesome, Though honestly I think the huge faction Idea will put off many people. Though, if you insist on bringing it in, it would likely be the military, because they are already somewhat well equipped to survive an apocalypse (look at NORAD, Cheyenne mountain, etc). AND they already had the builders, doctors(Though they specialize in stabilizing stuff like bullet wounds, explosions, and burns. So if a virus hit them, they wouldn't have the supplies or the know-how to fix it without asking for help. They likely won't have many farmers either, which could be used to balance this out (they would likely have years and years and years worth of food stored, but we can ignore that for the sake of balance).

We could also have a group of normal civilians, a good chunk of which were farmers, so that way, they would have an excess of food, but likely little in the way of firearms, because they're civilians. They would also probably have a few foreman in their midst, so they would well fortified. they would have a moderate amount of doctors and supplies as well, seeing as their territory encompasses two medical clinics (But no real hospitals).

Then, lets say in a big city somewhere, a group of police officers was ordered to guard a hospital until helicopters came to pull them out.
They didn't.
So, they stayed. fortified up a hospital as best they could with their meager knowledge of carpentry, scouted out the city, and, finding only one or two survivors, claimed it as their own.
The populace of the city would likely have relatively poor relations, as far as diplomacy goes, with the military. (they did abandon them after all.

I don't incist on bringing in a giant faction, especially if it means people wont join. And for what I have seen it kinda does. So I am considering to scrap that idea. Even though I think it would be pretty cool if done right.

I still feel like someone has to keep balance between the 2 factions so I guess there should come a GM in play?

I say do multiple. maybe go with my idea (that is, have each faction lack something that another has). Or you could make trusted people the heads of those factions.
