Mal stayed back. arms folded, watching Ray.

The creature was just inside, a dead crewmember was on the floor... Ray probably did not want to look to carefully at what the infector was doing to him...

The thing dies to a single, well aimed, shot.

Mal walks round the corner. "Well... that was surprisingly easy... Not going to get many songs like that."

There is a sort of scraping sound from the walls around them. "Probably for the best... lets get moving." Mal seemed to speak quieter, losing some of the arrogance in his voice for the first time since Ray had met him...
