Anyone else avoiding sleeping?
« on: March 11, 2015, 01:17:36 AM »
So for some unknown reason I haven't allowed myself sleep yet. Before that changes I wanted to ask if anyone else is doing the same and if so why.

So...anyone depriving themselves of sleep? Why?

I wouldn't exactly call it "not allowing" myself to sleep, but sometimes I have periods where I have extremely disturbing nightmares and during those times I tend to "avoid" sleeping for as long as I can.

Kinda like now actually >-> (Currently 3am here. I am about to go sleep soon-ish tho since I can feel the beginnings of a migraine attack)

Well I do actually a lot and I mean a LOT, I know it's unhealthy and such but the reason is because (sounds stupid) but I feel like sleeping wastes my time, I feel that I have to be doing something besides sleeping ?-? It's weird

Oh wow, I am sorry to hear that. For all it's worth I hope that can improve or stop being a thing. my dreams tend to be of a normal day but just slightly "off". It always feels trippy waking up afterwards

Most of the time i wanna sleep but my brain wont shut down. Im always thinking of the stuff i gotta do. Right now i got so much stuff going on I'm getting about two hours asleep a night. Nothing really bad I just get stuck on details.

I've always felt the same way!! I always wonder how much stuff I could accomplish with 8-10 more hours each day.

My brain usually becomes most active at night and I end up staying up as late as noon before going to sleep. Basically nocturnal. Needless to say I get pretty lonely because everyone else is on a totally opposite sleep schedule  XD

Fun fact: Sleep deprivation causes you to censor your thoughts much less, effectively making you more creative.

I mean...sleep is good for you...yeah...

Seems about right... When I'm cranky im usually more prone to getting into heated debates with people versus just minding my own business when im well-rested  XD

Heated debates are best when they're about things that are pointless and both parties are sleep deprived. The only bad part is you don't realise how funny it is until afterwards  XD

I feel the exact same way. "Hey instead of sleeping I could be doing chemistry extra credit, or playing Jak an Daxter. ". But a lot of times it's not my choice. I have a bonespur/ scoliosis (not sure whitch) in my back and it causes REALLY bad back pain.

HNNNG!! Jax and daxter was my childhood along with rachet and clank! Buuuuut anywho im always like that, literally on weekends I probably get one or two hours of sleep, and weekdays probably five due to school =~=. And my mind just thrives at night XD always something comes up. I'm even nocturnal at some points usually in the summer. However I think lots of people avoiding, or struggle with sleep

That's why most of my showers happen at 10-12 at night. Procrastination along with chemistry or playstation.

I don't always get along with my younger siblings, and devised a plan. At around 7:00 of 8:00 I will sleep till like 11:00, then stay up for a bit XD
