Unless you hear clearly terrible audio quality, I'll still advise against the sound card personally as they almost always have more latency and output impedance than onboard (both very bad things).

i mostly go through a small sub at the moment and i cant find my pc's EQ only windows media players one and really i have found a small converter that will do what i need
