No god, God or other, would wish their people to fight wars over him. If He did, He would be no god, but a devil.

It was people using their god as an excuse to kill people. A true god has no wish for this; he would rather they worship another than die, for if they die they are a burden on him, and he STILL is gaining no worship.

It states in the Bible that "Thou shalt not kill" and "Thy shalt love thy fellow man". Where do you see this in war? I am sure that other religious texts state this too.

^Might not realize that although humanity started the war, the cause of the war generally comes down to disagreement. Although "God" didn't technically start the war directly, it comes down to people who believed there was a god verses people who believed there was a different god.

Really, I believe, the only solution is to either believe entirely in one god, entirely in all gods or entirely in no gods. So far, we've been trying the first approach for centuries and haven't gotten very far.

Also, my last line of my post counters that point. Gods basically tell people war is wrong; nowhere do they state that to not believe in them is an excuse to go to war. That is peoples misconceptions: Yes, you go to hell for believing in the wrong god; no, that is not an excuse for war.

To refer to the same sections in the bible: "Thou shalt not kill" pretty much means in this context: "War is wrong". "Thy shalt love thy fellow man" again can easily be taken to have a small subclause thus: "Don't hate on others because they don't worship me; try and convince them, but love them anyway"

Altogether? "War because of me is wrong."

Regardless of whether or not the misconceptions were done by humanity, it still doesn't excuse the fact that god was a cause of it. Direct or indirect.

I never actually stated God was not a cause; I merely stated He did everything he could to stop it. This, in my eyes, means that though he is a cause, he is an unwilling cause; therefore by my understanding of most human legal systems, he would be forgiven at least partially, if not totally.
