Katie's Tutorials for Beginners~

Katie's Tutorials
for
Beginners

If you're new to drawing, it may be very frustrating for you. You may not think you're ever going to get better at what you love to do. The truth is, it takes practice, just like everyone says it does. There's a lot to learn about every little aspect of drawing that, while not necessarily are things you need to memorize, are things that should come naturally and that you should remember after you practice enough. I'm here to show beginners things they might not know to get them off on the right foot. I've been waiting to make this thread for a long time. I am not a professional nor expert at drawing, but I am sufficient enough that I think I have a thing or two that I can teach.

What I'll Teach

I will teach the following in the form of lessons. Each lesson will include some sub-lessons that go with the topic. I will not do them in order all the time, but I will try to pair one basic lesson with one hard one when I can. Each lesson will include text, images, videos, and maybe even livestreams to give you as much help as possible.

UNIT ONE
* What you need to know about materials and using them
* How to draw and portray basic shapes, lines and simple cartoons
* How to shade and pull together an art
* How to draw an anime face and head
* How to draw an anthro face and head - mammals
* How to draw an anthro face and head - avians
* How to draw an anthro face and head - reptiles
[* How to express different animals + how to draw different ears
* How to draw hair
* How to express emotion in the face

UNIT TWO

* How to draw a basic human body
* How to draw a complex human body
* How to make a human body anthro
* How anthro bodies work
* Drawing hands
* Drawing feet and paws
* Drawing tails
* How to express emotion using the body

UNIT THREE

* Different characters means different personalities
* Setting up a story
* Portraying mood
* Drawing pairs and more
* Drawing a comic page

UNIT FOUR

* Using a tablet
* How to ink a picture on the computer the easy way!
* How to color a picture on the computer 1
* How to color a picture on the computer 2
* Image manipulation, text and background

This course will set any beginner who wants to get better up to becoming a professional artist. It won't do it for them, but it will do its best to help and give tips about things you may have never thought of before. I can't wait to show you your first lesson, but as of now this is an interest thread. While I finish up the first lesson, please post here if you are interested in potential tutorials. It will show me if this thread will be worth it! 0:)

Oh yay!

I didn't think this would get this much interest, but now that I see it, I'm SO motivated to get started. I'm sorry that I don't have a lesson for you right now, but my computer decided to crash today, then my tablet crashed too and I had to re-install it. At least I'm free monday--- no school!

I'm super excited. I've always wanted to make tutorials for some reason. X3

Everyone can learn, Drake. :3 You may not learn from what I teach you, but just by practicing and trying to improve you will in time get better...and that is learning, by teaching yourself.

Anyway, I'm REALLY sorry that I haven't put up a lesson yet! I just have NO TIME at home. So much homework, so much chores and a set bedtime. Make it hard to squeeze this in with my other hobbies. Trust me though, I'm still workin' on it! :D

I know I'm not exactly a beginner, but I've never gotten along well with a tutorial, so I've never actually learned from any.
There's probably a ton of little insights that I've missed. So I'll give this whole tutorial idea another try. See if I can really learn.
"Parents always think kids are wasting their youth, and always have done [so] down through the millennia," says Tom Forsyth of RAD Game Tools. "'That Ug, always holding things. His front paws will develop in funny ways. Why can't he walk on all fours like normal proto-hominids?' And so, whatever the kids spend the most time doing, that's always what parents think is a waste of time, and what is corrupting their lives. It doesn't matter what that is. If all they did was homework, parents would be worrying that their kids aren't becoming well-rounded people. And, in fact, parents do this - enrolling math nerds in karate classes and the like. There is no way to win - parental paranoia ensures that kids are always doing the wrong thing."

I would love to see if there's anything I could show you Asia! : 3 I love your art so it would be an honor.

Teaching is as much of a challenge as learning though haha

UGHHH I'm soo sorry, i know it's like a month later, but I really haven't had the time to do this the past few weeks!~ I am close to having the first lesson done, and swear I will have it soon, plus some other lessons cause I'm in an arty mood and need the practice. I have more free time now, so I can really work on this.
