I know we're not arguing mainstream vs. underground here, but I'm pretty sure deadmau5 and Skrillex are the most accepted "alternative" electronica artists these days.


Not saying I can't occasionally enjoy either of them, I'm just surprised nobody posted them sooner.
I have the same feelings about them, I don't even like Deadmau5 that much unless someone remixes his stuff with someone else.

I realized that ever since I started this read, I haven't really delved into my favorite hip-hop sub-genre -- nerdcore.  I've been into it since 2004/2005, learned of it via mc chris (as do most who find out about it), moved on from there.  In honor of seeing MC Lars last night in Baltimore, here are a few tracks I enjoy by him.  He's a Stanford graduate (English major) who is also a fan of old-school hip-hop, writes a lot of socially-conscious, goofy, nerdiness-referencing tracks, some of which are about some of his favorites books and writers.
