OK I know I said I was taking a temp leave, and I am. >.> I'm just on the bus and thought I share my story.

There I am in AP bio board, having no idea what to do. I get a fb request, so I check it out, no mutual friends a bad profile pic so I'm not sure if I know the kid. At last I add them, and right from the start the person throws me a msg via chat, they say "hey, are you one of those furrys" I'm a little thrown off by there comment, I started to think of what they might say, thinking it be a troll. Well I say yes, and he said "what are they is it like a gay" I'm like, odd I say no its not like being gay. Then he says, "well my brother is one of those and I think he might be a gay".

In his mind furry=equalled gay, and from what I got, both were bad, to him.

Keep in mind this kid is 13 maybe his use of those is because he lacks the propper fundamentals? Idk, he didn't call me a furfag or anything so yea, that's my story.

maybe , he only herd what csi has said. try telling him most furrys are str8 , and some have fur suits ( i would love to get one but cant). a furry is any one who likes anrtho. thats what i would have told him

Maybe you should just let that kid figure things out on his own. Sounds a bit like he's just misinformed about both communities.

From the sound of it, I would bet that this kid is just badly misinformed about who and what we furries really are. Just tell him the truth. :)

Its just misunderstanding.

I mean the fandom is obviously foreign to him and he can't really quiet grasp what it really is, like most people who aren't in the fandom.

If you ever see him again or encounter another situation like that try to educate him what a furry is in a context that he can comprehend.

a furry is any one who likes anthro.and give him  some examples of furrys in the media. ( not csi or 1000 ways 2 die....those are perverts, not furrys)
